Teaching Domain-Specific Requirements Engineering to Industry: Applying Lego Serious Play to Smart Grids

چکیده
Within this contribution, we present an approach developed in order to communicate Smart Grid Systems Engineering as well as architecture management to domain-specific industry stakeholders from utilities. The method acts as requirements elicitation process based on Lego Serious Play methods alongside the domain specific IEC 62559 use case process. Based on years of experience applying the classic RQE approaches in the domain, the methodological background of the new tooling as well as the initial decisions for the process to be implemented are

Robust Agent Based Distribution System Restoration with Uncertainty in Loads in Smart Grids
This paper presents a comprehensive robust distributed intelligent control for optimum self-healing activities in smart distribution systems considering the uncertainty in loads. The presented agent based framework obviates the requirements for a central control method and improves the reliability of the self-healing mechanism. Agents possess three characteristics including local views, decentr...
متن کاملHybriding CMMI and Requirement Engineering Maturity & Capability Models - Applying the LEGO Approach for Improving Estimates
Estimation represents one of the most critical processes for any project and it is highly dependent on the quality of requirements elicitation and management. Therefore, the management of requirements should be prioritised in any process improvement program, because the less precise the requirements gathering, analysis and sizing, the greater the error in terms of time and cost estimation. Matu...
متن کاملOptimal Power Flow in the Smart Grid Using Direct Load Control Program
This paper proposes an Optimal Power Flow (OPF) algorithm by Direct Load Control (DLC) programs to optimize the operational cost of smart grids considering various scenarios based on different constraints. The cost function includes active power production cost of available power sources and a novel flexible load curtailment cost associated with DLC programs. The load curtailment cost is based ...
متن کاملA standard-compliant and semantic-based communication architecture for smart grids
Nowadays, the smart grid is a very important topic within the energy domain. The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) defines the smart grid as the modernization process from the current power grid to the power grid of the future. Whereas monitoring, protection and automatic optimization play key roles along the whole energy value chain (central and distributed generation , ...
متن کاملEngineering Smart Grids: Applying Model-Driven Development from Use Case Design to Deployment
The rollout of smart grid solutions has already started and new methods are deployed to the power systems of today. However, complexity is still increasing as focus is moving from a single system, to a system of systems perspective. The results are increasing engineering efforts and escalating costs. For this reason, new and automated engineering methods are necessary. This paper addresses thes...
